Product Specifications

Areas of Use

The Hettich Rotofix 32A is a compact and exceptionally robust benchtop centrifuge that has been a preferred choice in laboratories worldwide for several decades. With nine available rotors and a wide range of accessories, it is the most flexible centrifuge in its class — in a compact benchtop format weighing just approximately 23 kg.

Typical areas of use include:

  • Quality control and routine analysis in clinical and medical laboratories
  • Centrifugation of blood samples, urine samples and other biological specimens
  • Cytology and cell preparation — compatible with most existing funnel/glass systems
  • Chrome Bath analyses in the surface treatment industry
  • Sample preparation for environmental and water analyses
  • Separation and particle analysis in the chemical industry
  • Centrifugation of conical tubes (5–50 ml) in production and quality control
  • Precision centrifugation up to 4,226 g with fixed-angle rotor 1620A

The Rotofix 32A is IVDR-compliant in accordance with EU Regulation 2017/746 for use in regulated diagnostic and industrial environments.

Advantages

The Rotofix 32A is an exceptionally versatile centrifuge for laboratories — reliable, compact and easy to operate.

Nine rotors — the most versatile in its class With nine available rotors and support for a wide range of tube types and sample volumes, the Rotofix 32A handles everything from microlitre tubes to 94 ml sample bottles. No other benchtop centrifuge in the class offers comparable breadth.

Extremely compact and lightweight With a footprint of just 366 × 430 mm and a weight of only approximately 23 kg, the Rotofix 32A can be placed virtually anywhere — on a standard laboratory bench, in a mobile analysis system or in a confined production facility.

Low noise in a small format Up to 4,226 RCF and 6,000 RPM — performance matching larger and heavier centrifuges. Extremely short acceleration and deceleration times enable rapid sample handling.

Quiet operation Noise level of maximum 52 dB(A) with fixed-angle rotor 1628 — making it well suited for open industrial laboratories and production facilities.

Available with and without cooling Universal 320 for standard applications and Universal 320R with integrated cooling from –20°C to +40°C with a pre-cooling function.

IVDR-compliant Certified in accordance with EU Regulation 2017/746 for use in regulated diagnostic and industrial environments.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The Rotofix 32A offers nine different rotors — six swing-out rotors and three fixed-angle rotors — and supports sample volumes from 0.5 ml microlitre tubes to 6 × 94 ml sample bottles. No other benchtop centrifuge in a comparable size and weight class offers equivalent configuration options.

It depends on the rotor. With 12-place rotor 1628, you can run 12 × 15 ml per run. With swing-out rotor 1624 and the correct adapters, it is possible to run up to 108 microtubes per run. The maximum volume capacity is 6 × 94 ml with fixed-angle rotor 1620A.

Yes. Hettich cytology rotors are compatible with most existing funnel/glass systems and are supplied with a bio-containment lid. The Rotofix 32A is an established choice in clinical cytology laboratories.

The deceleration levels allow you to select how quickly the centrifuge brakes after the run is completed. This is particularly important for samples where gentle deceleration is necessary to preserve the sediment, such as with blood samples or cell preparations.

Yes. The centrifuge is IVDR-compliant in accordance with EU Regulation 2017/746, making it suitable for use in regulated clinical and diagnostic laboratories.
