Astell AMB Ecofill Benchtop Autoclave – Energy-Efficient and User-Friendly

The Astell AMB Ecofill benchtop autoclaves are designed to maximize energy, water, and time savings compared to traditional benchtop models. By replacing the CAT III filter found in the AMB Classic model, the Ecofill version instead features the innovative Ecofill system, which further reduces resource consumption.

The Ecofill system includes an integrated water reservoir that is filled via a port on the top of the unit. Instead of filling the chamber directly, water is supplied only when needed, and excess water is returned to the reservoir for reuse. This process helps to reduce water consumption, shorten cycle times, and lower energy usage, especially during continuous operation. An Ecofill autoclave can run up to 15 cycles before refilling is needed, ensuring simplicity and efficiency.

As part of Astell’s Plug & Play series, it requires no fixed water connection or drainage, only a standard power supply. This makes installation easy – simply place the autoclave near a power outlet, plug it in, and it’s ready to use!

As part of the Astell Plug & Play series, it requires neither a permanent water connection nor drainage — only a standard power connection. This makes installation straightforward — place the autoclave where there is a power socket and it is ready to use!

Frequently asked questions

The main difference is water management. The Classic requires manual water filling directly into the chamber and a condensate bottle for drainage. The Ecofill has an integrated water reservoir with autofill that lasts for up to 15 cycles, and excess water is automatically returned — no condensate bottle or drainage required.

The three models are identical in design and functionality. The AMB220 has 33 litres and a 700 mm bench depth, the AMB230 has 43 litres with the same footprint, while the AMB240 has 63 litres and requires a 900 mm bench depth.

No. The Ecofill automatically fills water from the built-in reservoir and requires neither a permanent drainage connection nor a condensate bottle. Only a standard power socket (230V, 13A) is required.
