The Plasma-Superartic Touch are medically approved ultra-low temperature freezers (Medical Device EMDN Z121702) designed for the storage of plasma, blood, fluids and body tissue for transfusion, administration or introduction into the body. With a temperature range down to -40°C, the series is specifically intended for the long-term storage of frozen plasma and other biological preparations requiring stable ultra-low temperatures. The series is used in blood banks, transfusion centres, hospitals and clinical laboratories.

Who is the Plasma-Superartic Touch suitable for?

The series is particularly well suited for blood banks and transfusion centres requiring stable long-term storage of frozen plasma, hospital departments where rapid access to frozen biological preparations is critical, clinical and biomedical laboratories requiring validated ultra-low temperature storage down to -40°C, as well as institutions that require traceable temperature logging in accordance with EU medical directives.

Documentation

All models are certified medical devices with MDD CE certification. The 250 and 400 additionally carry DIN 13277 conformity. All models comply with EU Directive 93/42/EEC (Class II), EU 2017/745 and EU 2023/607, ROHS II and III, WEEE, the F-gas Regulation and REACH. The data logger records temperature and events for 10 years, with export via USB, SD and RJ45.

Frequently Asked Questions

The key difference is the temperature range. The Emoteca 2T is a blood bank refrigerator operating at +2°C to +6°C with two independent compartments. The Plasma-Superartic is a medical freezer with a single chamber operating at –40°C to –20°C, designed for the freezing and long-term storage of plasma and biological preparations.

The DMLP Touch module is battery-powered and continues to record temperature and events without mains power. The hold over time is 5.6 hours for the 270 and 400 (from –40°C to 0°C) and 2.4 hours for the 700 (from –20°C to 0°C) at an ambient temperature of 20°C.

Yes. All models support Ethernet with Modbus TCP/IP, and with optional accessories you can connect via Wi-Fi, GSM (SMS notification) or Fiocchetti Cold Eyes cloud monitoring with app, email and SMS alerts.

The 250 Touch is suited for smaller departments with moderate storage capacity. The 400 Touch is the mid-range option with good capacity in a compact footprint. The 700 Touch offers the largest net capacity (544 litres) and has an extended range of accessories including stainless steel interior fittings.
