What sets the ROTOLAVIT II apart from a standard centrifuge?

The ROTOLAVIT II is a specialised automatic cell washing system — not a general-purpose centrifuge. It has been developed specifically for serological procedures such as crossmatching, antibody screening and cell washing in TB tests, and features built-in connectivity for saline solution supply and drainage.

Which tube types are compatible with the ROTOLAVIT II?

The centrifuge is compatible with standard serum tubes in sizes 12 × 75 mm (5 ml) and 10 × 75 mm (3 ml). Tubes of 10 × 75 mm require adapter cat. no. 1019, supplied in packs of 12.

Can the ROTOLAVIT II be used with custom washing protocols?

Yes. The centrifuge has 24 programme memory positions and 7 pre-installed application programmes. Custom protocols can be easily programmed via the intuitive colour touchscreen.

Is the ROTOLAVIT II approved for use in diagnostics?

Yes. The ROTOLAVIT II is IVDR-certified in accordance with EU Regulation (EU) 2017/746 for in vitro diagnostic medical devices. Please note that the product is not available in all countries.

What is the difference between the 12-place and 24-place rotor?

Both rotors operate at the same maximum speed (3,500 RPM) and RCF (1,438), however the 24-place rotor (cat. no. 1018-A) doubles the throughput compared to the 12-place rotor (cat. no. 1017-A). The choice depends on analysis volume and laboratory capacity.
